The Role
Reporting to the Front Office Manager and liaising directly with Pomeroy Corporate Office for all Safety & Security affairs, the incumbent is responsible for personally driving the Health & Safety commitments, including but not limited to:
Safeguarding and protecting Company assets
Championing all tracking of Covid-19 protocols and cases
Leading a team of 6 employees
Harnessing cooperation from departmental leaders
Ensuring the resort is always in full compliance with all permits (fire, food safety, etc) and conducting audits as required
Maintain relevant safety training, inspection, permit, and policy sign off records
Conduct fire and safety inspections and follow up as required
Lead the Resort Health & Safety Committee & first response teams
Provide first aid to guests and employees as required
Liaise with local police, fire, and Alberta Parks agencies
Assist in coordinating training sessions with employees and KES Fire Service
Assist in managing WCB claims and ensure all claims are handled effectively, including the modified work program
Ensure the compliance of all OH&S regulations
Assist in the review and of the Business Continuity Plan semi-annually and ensure it is current and any updated training is facilitated as necessary
In order to be considered for this role, you will have previous leadership experience in a similar capacity, be willing to live onsite in our staff accommodations, and will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to liaise well with all leaders and employees. Strong communication skills and conflict management is required. You will possess a current Standard First Aid/CPR-C certificate, an Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s license, a valid Alberta Basic Security License, AHSA Auditor certification preferred, OH&S specific training is preferred, previous fire training is an asset.
