We are looking for a Corporate Director of Marketing to join our growing hospitality team. 

This hands-on creative leadership role features a top-of-market compensation and benefits package and is based in Calgary, Alberta.

Key Focuses

  • Understands key marketing performance indicators and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses and consumer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for the revenue generation and branding working groups.
  • Collaborates with Operations and Sales to uncover insights and tactics to develop and implement marketing strategies for our proprietarily branded Resorts, Nordic Spas and Hotels.
  • Working closely with Sales and Operations creates annual Business Plans, Marketing Budgets and seasonal Marketing Calendars for each proprietary business unit.
  • Leads the strategic and tactical execution of marketing campaigns providing timely, standardized and regular campaign updates with a focus on return on investment along with recommending mid-campaign adjustments to channels and spend based on actual results.
  • Keeper of the organization's websites in terms of their search engine optimization, functionality, ease of use and efficiency in converting visits to revenues. Specifically Pomeroy Lodging, Nordic Spas, RDDMF, Alyeska Resort and vanity sites for Kananaskis and Kelowna.
  • Participates in weekly revenue meetings with Sales, Revenue Management and Operations to review sales pipeline, resolve challenges, present possible solutions, and provide ongoing support to ensure business units consistently performs to budgeted expectations.
  • Proprietor of the organization's databases; utilizing data for targeted marketing campaigns and/or seasonal promotions.
  • Attend and/or participate at conventions, conferences, and tradeshows, preparing engaging displays and collateral as needed, and providing post-event reports and analysis
  • Guide the day-to-day activities of the marketing team with a focus on professional developments and growing our own talent.
  • Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessary
  • Assigned deliverables are executed in a manner that requires little or no follow-up; both in terms of timeliness, scope and quality.
  • Personal communication, interactions and behaviours (and those of their people) support all five of the organization's core values.

Experience/Passions/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Proven track record in senior marketing roles/creating marketing campaigns
  • Excellent leadership, presentation, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in HTML, content management and design software
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Established portfolio of media and PR contacts

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
As the Corporate Director of Marketing, you will spend most of the time working business hours Monday to Friday. However, you may also experience long days and/or weekends to meet occasional upturns in business demands or meet deadlines. This hybrid role allows for flexibility to get work done where most productive and can be based out of corporate and/or home office along with site locations. Monthly travel will be required. This leadership position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
