Retail Clerk

THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN GIRDWOOD, ALASKA. 

Provides customer service in the Resort's Sundry shop outlets.  Position is seasonal, and will run through September.  The position is non-exempt.

Main Duties:

  • Assist guests in locating merchandise
  • Possess a functional knowledge of outlet's products and inventory
  • Operate point of sale system, making change, reconciling cash/credit at close of shift
  • Restock, price, and merchandise product
  • Maintain a clean shop
  • Inventory and shipping
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   

  • POS and cash-handling experience an asset
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated:  able to take initiative and achieve set goals
  • Energetic team player
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form 
  • Able to work weekends & holidays on a flexible schedule
  • Any employee over 21 years of age is required to have a valid TAPS card
