We are looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to join our growing organization. This role is based out of Chances Gaming Center in Fort St John British Columbia and offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will use your exceptional hands-on leadership and training skills to execute a memorable dining and or meeting and banquet experience for all guests. You will achieve excellence by meeting or exceeding planned objectives for Food & Beverage revenue inclusive of meetings and catering, employee satisfaction, and guest scores by leading the day to day operations, planning for the short term and long term outlook and mentoring your people to deliver consistent quality and exceptional service time and time again.

Skills/Abilities Include:

  • Facilitating each new hire through orientation and delivering the service and technical training required to be successful. Continues the training and performance feedback process throughout the entire employee life cycle.
  • Setting the First Impression of the service experience by monitoring and addressing the cleanliness and readiness of the restaurant/lounge(s), meeting and banquet space(s) and all public areas. Teaching your people to do the same.
  • Monitors the front of the house service teams to make sure that we are providing engaging service and creating memorable dining and meeting experiences. Ensures staff is assigned appropriate work specific functions and tasks, and are held accountable to the expectations.
  • Assess the quality of food from the kitchen and works with the Executive or Sous Chef to correct problems and maintain quality.
  • Prepare with financial accuracy monthly inventories, stock controls and all month-end documentation.
  • Manage and monitor the activities of the Food & Beverage service teams making sure adherence to all operational procedures, occupational health and safety standards, Liquor laws and hotel processes and policies.
  • Schedules all areas so that monthly labour costs fall within budgeted guidelines, so that our peak demand periods are fully staffed and that each member of the team can balance work with their obligations in life.

Education & Experience required to be successful

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Restaurant Leader
  • 1-3 years of meetings and catering experience 
  • POS & other systems experience
  • Food Safe Level 1, Serving It Right

Working Conditions

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturn in business demands. The Restaurant Manager spends a lot of time interacting with guests and employees and must possess high energy and the ability to be a hands-on leader. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work independently, think creatively and effectively prioritize tasks.
