The Role:

Working within the Rooms Division, which encompasses both the Pool and Guest Activities departments, the Pool Supervisor is part of a team dedicated to exceeding guest expectations by creating “picture-perfect” experiences throughout the resort. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the resort’s aquatic facilities, including the outdoor pool and hot tub, indoor hot tub and steam room, and children’s water park, as well as the fitness centre and teen games room, maintaining an active, hands-on presence on the pool deck and throughout all recreational areas.

The Pool Supervisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest service by fostering a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment. In addition to leading the pool team, this position actively supports day-to-day operations.

As part of a broader Adventure & Experiences team, this role also collaborates across Guest Activities to support programming and ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience throughout the resort.

Job Duties:

Pool Operations & Safety

  • Maintain a visible, active presence by regularly walking all recreational areas, including the outdoor pool and hot tub, indoor hot tub and steam room, children’s water park, fitness centre, and teen games room, to ensure they are safe, clean, well-maintained, and operating in accordance with resort standards while delivering a high-quality guest experience.
  • Oversee daily pool operations while supporting on-deck service.
  • Enforce safety policies and respond to incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Guest Experience & Programming

  • Deliver exceptional guest service through friendly, proactive engagement.
  • Support and lead poolside activities and aquatic programming.
  • Foster a fun, inclusive, and family-friendly environment.
  • Respond to guest feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail by regularly inspecting all pool and surrounding areas to ensure they are clean, well-presented, and aligned with resort standards, delivering a seamless guest experience.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise, coach, and support Pool Attendants and Guest Activities team members.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and daily shift coordination.
  • Lead by example through active participation in daily operations.
  • Support operations across both Pool and Guest Activities as needed.

Facility & Operational Standards

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across all aquatic areas, including pools, hot tubs, change rooms, locker rooms, and fitness facilities.
  • Work closely with the Nordic Spa Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure pool chemical levels, water quality, and temperatures are consistently maintained in line with safety and operational standards.
  • Ensure amenities are fully stocked and well-maintained.
  • Support daily cleaning and upkeep of facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor conditions and report maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Support effective labor management by assisting with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and daily workforce planning to align with business levels.
  • Contribute to team performance management by providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and support, and by addressing performance concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a resort, hospitality, pool, or recreation environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional guest service with strong attention to detail.
  • Passionate about creating “above and beyond” guest experiences.
  • Engaging, welcoming, and empowering leadership style with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Personable, friendly, and highly energetic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with leadership, including the Adventure & Experiences Assistant Manager.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to health and safety, with a strong focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift checking the change rooms, pool deck, outside pool deck and patio along with the gym and teen play area.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to collect used towels, arrange lounge chairs, clean pool deck surfaces and changing rooms.
  • Repetitive reaching, lifting, and carrying of towels, deck supplies, and amenities up to 10 lbs.
  • Working in outdoor conditions, including direct sun exposure, heat, humidity, or cooler temperatures depending on season.
  • Exposure to pool chemicals (chlorine) and cleaning agents.
  • Repetitive lifting, sorting, and folding of pool towels throughout the shift.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays based on business levels.
  • Frequent walking across resort grounds, working indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, i.e. Sun, rain, snow, wind.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull pool and recreational equipment, supplies, and furniture, including towel bins, cleaning supplies, pool equipment, sun loungers, tables, and chairs, as required.
