We are looking for a fulltime Bookkeeper to join our team! 

Location: Pomeroy Lodging Calgary Downtown Office

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Bookkeeper to support the Hotel Vertical. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems by overseeing general accounting processes across hotels and food & beverage operations.

This position requires a strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, month-end processes, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities (assigned entities)

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to hotels and F&B operations.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Record and verify daily revenue and transaction data, ensuring location cash balances are accurate.
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries for revenue and other financial transactions.
  • Support the month-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, capital expenditure tracking, intercompany billing, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing supporting explanations.
  • Collaborate with operations, compliance, and finance teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and recordkeeping in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide accounting support to teams within the Hotel Vertical as required.

Experience & Education

  • Experience in hotel or food & beverage accounting is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Experience supporting audit processes and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and regulatory compliance, particularly within the hospitality industry, is preferred.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High level of analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position based at the Pomeroy Lodging Corporate Office in downtown Calgary, working Monday to Friday during standard office hours. Additional flexibility may be required during month-end close and audit periods.
