Job Description

As the Kitchen Attendant, you are authorized to create inspired and memorable dining experiences for our guests. You will support the culinary team by assisting in various tasks, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. We commit to giving you the training, tools, support and feedback required to be successful; achieving excellence is up to you.

  • Maintains a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor during all guest encounters and responds appropriately to guest requests and complaints.
  • Understands that effective and cohesive communication between departments is vital to the hotel’s operation.
  • Assists in basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and preparing ingredients for cooking.
  • Washes dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashers. Maintains a clean and organized kitchen area, including counters, sinks, and equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment such as stovetops, ovens, grills, and fryers.
  • Replenishes kitchen supplies, such as spices, condiments, and paper products, to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Disposes of kitchen waste and trash properly, following established sanitation procedures.
  • Assists in the storage and rotation of food items to maintain freshness and prevent spillage.
  • Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment.
  • Protects self, co-workers, and guests against safety hazards and reports them immediately to the Executive Chef.

Experience/Passions/Education

  • Valid Foodsafe certificate or advanced (Level 2) Food Safety certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a high-paced, stressful environment and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Must be Health and Safety conscious and dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.

Working Conditions

This position may work day, afternoon, or evening shift any day of the week or weekend with long days to meet periodic upturns in business demands or meet deadlines.  This position is set in a fast-paced and, at times, high-pressure environment that requires continuous physical movement, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs., and the ability to manage multiple sequences and demands. There may be periods of independent work and changes in temperature from the back to the front of the house.
