The Role

Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a 400+ room Autograph Collection by Marriott; located 60 minutes west of Calgary International Airport. As Director of Food & Beverage you will have oversight of 6 restaurants and catering. Total revenues are projected to be $8M for 2022. The role is accountable for the people, quality and financial results of the F&B Division. The short term focus will be preparing for the summer high season and on raising Guest Feedback scores across the division. A strong background in high volume premium casual restaurants/outlets is crucial for success. We commit to giving you the authority and resources required to be successful; achieving excellence is up to you.

Key focuses for the role include, but are not limited to being visible in operations throughout the day, supporting the execution and presentation standards, guest experiences, and revenue optimization, directing overarching training programs to deliver agreed upon operating and service standards, providing direct reports with resources, direction, coaching, goal-setting and feedback, reviewing financial outcomes daily, weekly, and monthly, ensuring adjustments are made to optimize revenue and margins, ensures that shortfalls to operating standards are not unaddressed; supported by clearly communicated expectations and real time coaching, and works collaboratively with Culinary to create a resort-wide F&B program that supports positioning by outlet and expected cost of sales.

Due to the 365 day a year operation of the property the position may be exposed to long shifts that at times include late hours, weekends, and holidays. Typical work week would be Tuesday through Saturday. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. The position will spend a lot of time on their feet: multitasking competing priorities, effectively dealing with confrontation from employees and guests and leading a culture of service excellence.

In order to be successfully considered for this role, you will have a degree or diploma in a related discipline, at least 3 years of senior management experience in hospitality, a proven track record of building leaders and teams, and a strong background in restaurants is required.
