Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a world class mountain resort property featuring 408 guest rooms, 5 unique Food & Beverage outlets, conference facilities, Alberta’s first Nordic spa and staff accommodations. All surrounded by untouched beauty and rugged mountain peaks in the Canadian Rockies and conveniently located one hour west of Calgary and forty five minutes south of Banff and Canmore.

We are looking for a Director of Operations

We are looking for a strong leader preferably with 4-diamond experience to join our team.  You will be the operational business leader with responsibility for the property operations and financial well-being including acting as General Manager in his/her absence.  Areas of responsibility include Front Office, Bell/Concierge, Lodge pool and recreation/fitness and family activities, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering/Maintenance, Food and Beverage/Culinary including conference and banqueting operations.  You will work with direct reports (Executive Committee members and department heads) to develop and implement the operations strategy and ensuring implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures that operations will meet the brand’s target customer needs, ensuring employee satisfaction, focusing on growing revenues, maximizing financial performance and exceeding brand benchmark GSS scores.  As a member of the Executive Committee, you will develop and implement resort-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and employees in order to provide a return on investment to Pomeroy Lodging whilst also being the guardian and leader of PKML brand values and Company’s Core values.

In order to be successfully considered for this role you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in full-service or resort Hotel leadership (GM or AGM), post-secondary education, tourism management degree, or similar, exceptional listening, comprehension and communication skills, demonstrable training and coaching abilities both one on one and in groups, and strong proven leadership skills are essential.  The incumbent will have an exceptional eye for detail, quality and cleanliness, a dogged determination to strive for the highest quality without compromise, possess the ability to multi-task, be results-driven, producing accurate work against hard deadlines.  The position requires the ability, determination, and commitment to work long and demanding hours often with conflicting deadlines and priorities.
