Rather than an experience in structure and conformity, our guests are welcomed into a space that is thoughtfully restful and physically comfortable. As Nordic Spa Bartender, you will play a vital role in creating a cozy and rejuvenating atmosphere for spa guests to refuel and unwind. Your role is crucial because you are pivotal in the guest’s impression of quality service. From providing efficient and friendly service to setting the stage for a personable dining experience, you will maximize food & beverage revenue while creating a lasting impression on our guests We commit to giving you the training, tools, support, and feedback required to be successful; achieving excellence is up to you. 

Key Focuses

  • Maintains a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor during all guest encounters and responds appropriately to guest requests and complaints.  
  • Ensures the bar, public areas, server stations, and storage areas are “picture perfect” for optimal first impressions. 
  • Understands that effective and cohesive communication between departments is vital to the Nordic Spa’s operation. 
  • Mixes and serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks, based on guest orders and established recipes.  
  • Develops excellent product knowledge about the menu and feature items and can answer any inquiry.  
  • Handles cash, credit cards, and other payment methods accurately when processing drink orders. Prepares itemized cheques and collects payments from tables. 
  • Adheres to all regulations governing the service of food and alcohol. Adheres to responsible alcohol serving guidelines, including checking identification to verify legal drinking age, recognizing signs of intoxication, and refusing service when necessary. 
  • Secures and regulates the control of all hard liquor, beer, wine, coolers, etc., by locking cabinets and storage areas when not in use.  
  • Assist in monitoring bar inventory levels and reports low stock to management. Documents and records liquor requisitions, transfers, and spillage. 
  • Protects self, co-workers, and guests against safety hazards; reports immediately to the supervisor or manager on duty.                                                                                                        
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Experience/Passions/Education 

  • Maintains a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor during all guest encounters and responds appropriately to guest requests and complaints.  
  • Ensures the bar, public areas, server stations, and storage areas are “picture perfect” for optimal first impressions. 
  • Proserve certification required 
  • Knowledge of local alcohol laws and regulations 
  • Ability to remain professional, courteous and focused under pressure while managing multiple tasks 
  • Passion for people, wellness, and committed to creating guest experiences 
  • A minimum of 1-2 years bartending experience 
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure and can perform multiple functions 

Working Conditions 

This position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with guests, team members, and other stakeholders. Due to 365-day-a-year operations, this position will require you work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays and may involve extended hours during periods of high business demand. A portion of the role is performed outdoors in the fresh mountain air, with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions, including temperatures from -30°C to +30°C. The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, as well as occasional use of ladders, stairs, or ramps. The employee must be able to lift up to 30 lbs as required.
