Summary

Join the Fort St. John (FSJ) Chances Casino team.  FSJ is the largest city in the Northeast Region of BC, situated on the Alaska Highway; its population is 21,000.  It offers a great variety of cultural, leisure, and outdoor experiences.

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Security Supervisor and Manager.  Security Officers are responsible for the safety and security of guests, team members and assets.  A Security Officer plays a critical role in the casino setting and is essential in maintaining a safe, friendly environment in compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional guest service following Chances Casino Fort St John, BCLC, and GPEB policies and procedures
  • Maintain a presence on the gaming floor and be able to respond to guest inquiries
  • Write reports, maintain daily reporting requirements, and conduct investigations
  • Provide First Aid and medical attention as required
  • Provide physical security, crowd control and control of incidents in and around the business
  • Assess situations, sensitive in dealing with people and be proactive in providing solutions

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Required:

  • Previous experience in a security role is an asset
  • Written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Sensitive and able to provide solutions when dealing with people who require assistance or direction

Experience, Training, Certification and Education:

  • Gaming Security Officer (GSO) Training Completion Certification (online course/written exam)
  • The ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check through the Gaming Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • First Aid Level 1. Level two is an asset but not required
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated security/surveillance experience; gaming experience is an asset
