Summary

 

Join the Chances Casino Terrace Food and Beverage Team. Terrace is culturally rich and an outdoor paradise, featuring world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. With an area population of 20,000, Terrace is the largest population west of Prince George, and serves as a hub community for the northwest.

 

In this role, you are responsible for creating and executing a memorable dining experience for all guests.  Successfully mastering this position requires a commitment to building, training, and coaching a successful team in the front of the house; your leadership and customer service skills will help the department achieve excellence; maximizing profitability and elevating guest satisfaction.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and inspire the restaurant team with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach
  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
  • Schedule labour as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed and labour cost objectives are met
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance and measure quality; continually update written policies and procedures to reflect changes to food and beverage menus
  • Provides training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

  • Bartending skills and experience
  • Computer literate: able to use POS systems, inventory control software solutions
  • Ability to write reports, spreadsheets, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent listening, comprehension and communication skills required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and data
  • Ability to multi-task and produce accurate work against hard deadlines

 

Experience, Training, Certification, & Education

  • Preferably five to seven years related experience and training
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Outstanding customer service & interpersonal skills
  • Able to obtain a Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch (GPEB) license
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends and evenings
