The Role

We are looking for a dynamic leader with sound knowledge of hotel operations.  Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the front desk, switchboard, bell desk, concierge, and family activities.  The role requires flexibility with hours.  The successful incumbent will ensure the highest level of guest service by exceeding guest expectations to build loyalty, ensuring that brand operating standards are consistently maintained, through coaching and mentoring the front office team by creating an environment of contagious learning and job fulfillment in a positive working environment, in support of our Employee Engagement goals.  They will lead in the achievement of the departments’ revenue goals through training, motivation, promotion, and incentives in pursuit of our room upsell and parking targets.  They will assist in managing onboarding and training off all front office employees.  We expect our leaders to lead from the front and help enhance the guest experience by providing exceptional service.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIRMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Willing to fulfill all duties of a Department Head in the absence of the Front Office Manager
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative innovator and leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions.
  • Previously demonstrated commitment to exceeding guests' expectations at all times.
  • Highest level of attention to detail as it relates to not only task oriented functions but also to cleanliness of work and guest areas e. “Be the eye of the guest”
  • Understanding, or, desire to learn forecasting of occupancy, labor, rooms expenses, and to measure these against actual results and create action plans accordingly.
  • Computer literacy is imperative including applications in Opera, WINPM, WINSAM IRIS, Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and Internet.
  • Experience in coaching & mentoring supervisors to foster learning & development.
  • Experience in handling guest feedback tactfully via email, telephone, guest feedback portals and in person.
  • A Diploma in Hospitality Administration from a recognized institute would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Kananaskis/Canadian Rockies/Alberta and all we have to offer an asset.

To be considered for this role, you must have been in a leadership position within front office operations for a minimum of 2 years. A degree in hospitality management is preferred. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, energetic person who is capable of carrying out all charges in a diversified Resort environment.
