Summary of Responsibilities

The Facility and Pool Operator is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of pool, spa operation and maintenance throughout Kananaskis Nordic Spa facilities.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following;

  • Ensure the highest safety and cleanliness standard within the facility and ensure regulations are being followed.
  • Handling chemicals and treating water with to maintain a safe and healthy water quality and monitor chemical usage. Able to diagnose problems and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Maintain cleanliness of mechanical room, storage rooms, electrical and boiler rooms.
  • Provides initial response to calls for service. Evaluate maintenance needs, and take corrective action.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide amazing guest service.
  • Requires ability to perform maintenance, minor repairs, pool, spa maintenance, and other basic preventative maintenance and repairs as well as general maintenance on property.
  • Perform general minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, light carpentry, painting and HVAC systems. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Previous Spa or Hospitality maintenance experience preferred
  • Possession of a Certified Pool Operator Certification (CPO) required
  • WHMIS, Standard First Aid (including CPR)
  • Excellent guest service, communication, organizational skills in addition to a solid work ethic with the ability to work independently

Working Conditions

Include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Frequent standing and walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling throughout shift
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Frequent lifting and occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Working outdoors in variety of mountain weather conditions, with average temperature ranges of  -30c to +30c
