Job Title: SECOND COOK

We are recruiting for ten (10) Second Cook positions (NOC 6322). The positions are full-time 30-40 hours per week, permanent with an hourly rate of $18.00.  Overtime may be necessary as required paid at time and half.

As a Second Cook, you will be an important member of a team that creates an atmosphere of supporting guest expectations, each and every shift.

Job duties:

  • Prepare and serve food in one of our many sections of the kitchen, including a la carte and banquets
  • Operate individual station within the kitchen, under the supervision of first cooks, and/or CDP
  • Report to the kitchen CDP and First Cooks
  • Work according to menu specifications
  • Control food waste in your section
  • Follow and ensure compliance with safe food handling policies, including personal hygiene procedures
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to leadership
  • Protecting company assets and ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Supporting our employee culture, speak with others using clear and professional language, listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments
  • Support your team to reach common goals, ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial cooking or professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary management diploma and/or cooking certificate is an asset for this position
