The Role 

The 1st Pastry cook will assist in the day to day operation of the pastry department, including the creation of pastries according to our standards, and crafting desserts for restaurants, the market café and banquet service.  You will hand-make chocolate truffles, create special offerings for room drops for VIP guests, and you will also be involved with menu development for all outlets   You will safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools and equipment to prepare baked foods, and follow and ensure compliance with safe food handling policies, including personal hygiene procedures. You will report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to leadership, protecting company assets, and ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.  Supporting our employee culture, you will speak with others using clear and professional language, listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees, develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments, and support your team to reach common goals.  

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess excellent leadership abilities and a positive demeanor, be able to demonstrate 4-5 years minimum of related pastry/baking experience, and show culinary baking diploma or completion of college/CEGEP/vocational.
