We are looking for a full-time Casino Slot Attendant to join our growing team. 

Our Slot Attendants work in the heart of the casino providing service to our guests on the electronic gaming floor by assisting as necessary with payouts, and other needs while following all policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Respond to guest’s enquiries regarding the slot machines including but not limited to: features, diagnostics last game recall, diagnostics last bill/last ticket recall, terms, symbols and denominations.
  • Repair and restore minor machine malfunctions
  • Initiate and process payments of jackpots and cancelled credits after approval and verification determined by Casino Management System. Reset machines after processing
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of all Slot Operation Machinery including machine lighting. Report any maintenance requirements to the Shift Manager, and the BCLC Slot technician via the radio, or the communication book.
  • Report any suspicious activity or security threat to the Shift Manager.
  • Identify regular Slot guests and assist Casino Hosts in tracking their play.
  • Enrolls guests in the Encore Card, promoting the memberships benefits
  • Assist with awareness of and excitement for on-going and upcoming site promotions
  • Promotes and assists Guest Service Representatives in promotional activities including but not limited to Slot tournaments.
  • Responsible for maintaining good guest relations by Greeting, welcoming, and acknowledging guests
  • Manages a cash float, verifies and provides jackpot payouts and monetary change to guests
  • Perform routine procedures in accordance with Pomeroy Lodging, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, and the Gaming Poicy and Enforcement Branch
  • Ensure the gaming floor is tidy at all times (helping collect empty glasses, bottles from around the floor, taking them to the bar)
  • Work in compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures and/or BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures; report any violations and escalate to the appropriate level as necessary
  • Participate in a professional, constructive and supportive environment for all staff with an attention to open communication and a team concept
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, in both written and verbal form.
  • Must enjoy entertaining and communication with the public
  • Must be available for daytime shifts
  • Must be 19+
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Any other duties that may be assigned periodically

Experience, Training, Certification, & Education:

  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment
  • Must work well under pressure
  • A passion for providing Great Experiences and Memories to our internal and external guests in the continual quest of achieving service excellence
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving IT Right Certificate prior to employment
  • Ability to successfully obtain Anti Money Laundering Certificate within 30 days of employment

Working Conditions:

  • Busy casino environment with constant loud noise constant wear of ear piece, and radio
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, kneel, run, and bend.
  • Slot Attendants often have to handle and transport materials that are over 25lbs.
