We are hiring for the role of Spa Attendant.  This full-time opportunity is based out of the brand new Alyeska Nordic Spa in Girdwood, Alaska, and offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Achieving Excellence:

As a Spa Attendant, you are authorized to exceed guest expectations by creating "picture perfect" guest experiences throughout the spa, each and every shift. The Guests' first impression around cleanliness is a powerful and lasting one from the locker and treatment rooms to the pool deck throughout all indoor and outdoor spaces. We commit to giving you the training, tools, support and feedback required to be successful; achieving excellence is up to you.

Qualifications:

  • Anticipate guests' needs and answer guest questions. Be ready to assist with guest needs throughout the day.
  • Ensure locker room amenities are in place and stocked (towels, robes, sandals, soaps, tissue, paper towels, cotton, styling products, brushes, etc.)
  • Delivering "picture perfect" spa public areas within agreed timelines requires hard work and attention to detail; ensuring locker rooms are stocked and pristine, garbage receptacles less, than half full and outdoor stations are always guest-ready and free of debris, trash and used towels.
  • Ensure towel station is fully stocked and prepared for day. This includes collecting laundry carts of clean linen, towels, and robes.  Distribute to appropriate locations.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of all Spa operations, procedures, chemicals and expectations.
  • Deep cleans all facilities and equipment on a daily basis.

Education & Experience:

  • Previous Spa experience preferred
  • First Aid Certificate (Including CPR) preferred
  • Excellent guest service, communication, organizational skills in addition to a solid work ethic with the ability to work independently
  • Must be able to lift, move, and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly
  • Passion for Guest Service and Health and Wellness

 

Working Conditions:

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with employees, guests and other stakeholders.  Working outdoors in a variety of Mountain weather conditions, with average temperature ranges of  -30 C/-22 F to +30 C / +86 F.

 

Physical Demands: 

The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training and policy adherence. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
