THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN GIRDWOOD, ALASKA. 

Main Duties:

  • Oversee the operations of the MLC office in the absence of the supervisor.
  • See to the needs and complaints of customers at the MLC office.
  • Assist in selling MLC lessons, lift tickets, rentals & special programs to the public.
  • Reconcile cash and charges with written report at the end of each shift.
  • Retain up-to-date mountain information such as mountain conditions and events at the Resort and respond to general inquiries.
  • Train the new MLC clerk staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as employees performance, grooming, training, and policy adherence.
  • Accurate cash handling experience including operating a cash register required.
  • Great customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to accommodate work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs.

 

  • Physical demands and work environment:  Lifting heavy objects (no more than 25 pounds), bending, twisting and shoveling may be required.  You will be required to stand and walk safely on uneven terrain.  Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the noise in this work environment is usually moderate.  Physical terrain in the work environment can be uneven with poor traction; there is ice and snow outside and wet floors in doors.  Outside temperatures can be extremely cold and wet.
