THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN GIRDWOOD, ALASKA. 

Main Duties:

  • Sell MLC lessons, lift tickets, rentals & special programs to the public.
  • Collect payments for MLC lessons & special programs.
  • Operate cash register and point of sale system.
  • Retain up-to-date mountain information such as mountain conditions and events at the Resort and respond to general inquires.
  • Explain rental, lift and ski school procedures to guests.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
  • Works in the Ticket Office when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Accurate cash handling experience including operating a cash register required.
  • Great customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Manual dexterity to accurately handle currency and coin.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations (multiply, divide, add and subtract). 10 key by sight required, by touch preferred.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to accommodate work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs.

 

  • Physical demands and work environment:  Lifting heavy objects (no more than 25 pounds), bending, twisting and shoveling may be required.  You will be required to stand and walk safely on uneven terrain.  Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the noise in this work environment is usually moderate.  Physical terrain in the work environment can be uneven with poor traction; there is ice and snow outside and wet floors in doors.  Outside temperatures can be extremely cold and wet.
