Lift Crew - Winter 2021-2022

Lift Operator

This position is located in Girdwood Alaska.

Main Duties:

• Assist guests on and off chairlifts
• Ensure safe operation of lift
• Be alert to possible problems
• Provide information to riders about resort facilities and local area
• Knowledge of the mountain emergency operating plans and the ability to assist when the plans are activated.
• To lead the crew they are working with, prioritizing tasks, and setting the break rotation
• The knowledge and ability to couple the lifts to their secondary drives; know their way around the motor room
• Deal with guest issues
• Ability to communicate effectively with LO supervisors and other departments
• Accountable for assigned lift and crew
• Other duties as assigned

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to work flexible schedules such as evenings and weekends
• Must be reliable and dependable
• Able to work outside and in inclement weather on a continual basis
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with all kinds of people, sometimes in stressful situations
• Must be able to load and unload riders from chairlifts
