We are looking for a Cluster Maintenance Manager to support our properties in Fort St John, B.C. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits and perks.

As the Cluster Maintenance Manager, you are authorized to exceed guest expectations by creating "picture perfect" guest experiences throughout all four properties each and every shift. You will achieve excellence by facilitating and overseeing the property's day-to-day maintenance, including minor repairs and improvements, preventative maintenance, championing life & safety standards, collaborating with the Corporate Office on major repairs and improvements and supporting other operational departments. You will lead and teach your people to make business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics.

Main Duties

  • Is present in the department, assessing the performance of their people, procedures in real-time against standard operating procedures. Understands that they are personally an essential piece in their area(s); assesses multiple demands and competing priorities and identifies necessary resources to handle critical work demand.

  • Product Knowledge of all room types, hotel layouts, hotel amenities and Emergency Exits. In addition to understanding various system requirements, i.e. mechanical, electrical, fixtures and equipment.
  • Collaborating across all departments to support each departmental maintenance program and execute daily weekly and monthly checklists.
  • Preventing minor maintenance issues from becoming major issues by promptly investigating all maintenance requests/work orders and prioritizing the needs of the property. Documents and maintains detailed records on all physical equipment, life safety systems and items requiring regular inspection.
  • Maintains guest rooms, public guest space, onsite amenities including pool/hot tub and back of house areas by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
  • Be aware and vigilant to protect yourself, employees, guests and the property against safety hazards. Take responsibility for following up on repairs or solutions and their execution.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Requires advanced understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts
  • Previous certification or hotel maintenance an asset
  • Excellent listening, communication and multi-tasking skills required
  • Ability to compute and manipulate mathematical calculations
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Working Conditions:

Our hotels operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. In addition to the routine maintenance and repairs of the physical Hotel, the Maintenance Engineer is also expected to be on call for emergencies and must be able to respond to emergencies when not on site. Maintenance Engineers may experience long periods of standing and bending, continuous physical movement during work hours, lifting, pushing or pulling up to but not limited to 75lbs, periods of working alone and exposure to heat and cold air.
