Job Description

As a Kitchen Attendant, you are authorized to ensure memorable dining experiences by helping the culinary team reach its commitment to a safe, clean and efficient operation. You will achieve excellence by taking care of, cleaning and inspecting flatware, tableware, kitchen equipment and keeping all kitchen areas to a superior standard. Main Duties of a Kitchen Janitorial Attendant include:

  • Able to plan out their shift and work independently with little or no supervision when required. Stays organized throughout their shift; consistently completing shift check-lists and side duties as required. Optimally addresses multiple and sometimes competing needs
  • Demonstrates ability to manage their shift workload to make decisions that will positively impact their department. Leaves no team members in the weeds, proactively handling unexpected operational hurdles.
  • Ensure plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots & all cooking utensils are cleaned using the appropriate machinery
  • Remove garbage, boxes from kitchen as needed or at a minimum at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas
  • Following all safety and sanitation policies
  • Maintains the work area in a safe, clean and organized manner.

Skills/Education/Experience:

  • Previous experience in stewarding, janitorial, or in a hotel is an asset
  • Desire to work as a team player and establish a connection with coworkers and management to cultivate a positive atmosphere
  • Attention to detail and pride in a quality job done well
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills required
  • Long periods of standing
  • Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to remain calm and respectful while interacting with culinary staff and peers

Working Conditions:

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, on your feet, managing multiple sequences and demands.
