Major Responsibilities & Duites:

  • Providing exceptional guest service and conducting all games in a precise, efficient and secure manner in accordance to Pomeroy Lodging, Chances FSJ Casino, BCLC, and GPEB policies and procedure.
  • Exchanging guest cash and promotional vouchers for equivalent value chips
  • Controlling the order of play; closing bets at the appropriate time; maintaining game integrity
  • Maintaining table security
  • Secures cards, chips and cash; authorizes and verifies all transactions
  • Concentrates on table activities
  • Maintains appropriate game pace and proper game security
  • Contacts Dealer Supervisor when appropriate to resolve disputes and game irregularities
  • Conduct live games on the casino floor professionally and as a team member
  • Work closely with Dealer Supervisors, Shift Managers and the Management team to ensure a well-run gaming floor.
  • Promotes the sites events and services to all guests
  • Assist guests with game rules
  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all guests and staff
  • Ensure that wagers are placed before game begins
  • Compute payable odds to winning bets
  • Pay winning bets and collect losing bet
  • Must directly or indirectly provide for superior customer service and promote excellent employee relations with co-workers
  • Be able to capture new guests by promoting the encore card.
  • Inform supervisor/manager of unnatural play.
  • Stay abreast with promotions and events
  • Opening and closing floats
  • Tracking customer play
  • Verify cards at opening and closing

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Required:

  • You must be able to work up to 40 hours per week (hours will vary depending on operational needs) in a variety of shifts including evenings, nights and weekends as we operate 18 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Sharp mathematical skills to add and multiply numbers quickly and memorize repeated numerical combinations

  • Any other duties that may be assigned periodically

Experience, Training, Certification, & Education

  • High school diploma asset
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Customer Service role
  • Outstanding Customer Service & Interpersonal Skills.
  • Sharp mathematical skills to add and multiply numbers quickly and memorize repeated numerical combinations
  • To obtain a Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch license.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right License prior to working
  • Appropriate Response Training to be completed prior to working
  • Anti-Money Laundering to be completed prior to working
  • Counterfeit Training to be completed prior to working
  • Ability to count quickly and accurately – makes few mistakes
  • Dealing experience is an asset
  • Job offer is conditional upon the successful application ($60.00 application fee which is reimbursed after a probationary period of 3 months or at end of contract)
  • Must be capable of passing a Table Games test within 8 weeks of the conditional job offer.

Working Conditions:

  • Monitored through surveillance cameras to protect the casino, guests and staff.
  • English only on the gaming floor.

  • Dealers work in a confined area

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks with arm, wrist and hand
  • Ability to lift objects weighted approximately 15 lbs
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
