The Role

Reporting to the Front Office Manager and liaising directly with Pomeroy Corporate Office for all Safety & Security affairs, the incumbent is responsible for personally driving the Health & Safety commitments, including but not limited to:

• Safeguarding and protecting Company assets
• Leading a team of five employees
• Harnessing cooperation from departmental leaders
• Ensuring the resort is always in full compliance with all permits (fire, food safety, etc) and conducting audits as required
• Maintain relevant safety training, inspection, permit, and policy sign off records
• Conduct fire and safety inspections and follow up as required
• Lead the Resort Health & Safety Committee & first response teams
• Provide first aid to guests and employees as required
• Liaise with local police, fire, and Alberta Parks agencies
• Assist in coordinating training sessions with employees and KES Fire Service
• Assist in managing WCB claims and ensure all claims are handled effectively, including the modified work program
• Ensure the compliance of all OH&S regulations
• Assist in the review and of the Business Continuity Plan semi-annually and ensure it is current and any updated training is facilitated as necessary

In order to be considered for this role, you will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to liaise well with all leaders and employees.  Strong communication skills and conflict management is required.  You will possess a current Standard First Aid/CPR-C certificate, an Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s license, a valid Alberta Basic Security License, AHSA Auditor certification preferred, OH&S specific training is preferred, previous fire training is an asset.
