Banquet Manager

Job Summary: As the Banquet Manager you will use your exceptional hands on leadership and training skills to execute a memorable Catering experience for all guests. You will achieve excellence by assisting your team in meeting or exceeding planned objectives for Food & Beverage revenue, employee satisfaction, and guest scores by taking an active leadership role in the day to day operations and mentoring your people to deliver consistent quality and exceptional service time and time again.

Some of the Banquet Manager's duties are:

  • Demonstrates and leads co-operation and regular exchange of information with all shifts both front of house and back of house and if applicable Hotel operations team.
  • Facilitating each new hire through orientation and delivering the service and technical training required to be successful. Assisting the Food and Beverage Manager in the continual training and performance feedback process throughout the entire employee life cycle for your people.  
  • Vigilant to protect the asset, our guests and our people; ensuring responsible service of both food and alcohol. Diligent in following, to the letter of the law, all local and provincial health & safety, food handling, alcohol service and video lottery terminal laws.
  • Evaluates the performance of their team members at least twice a year providing concrete examples to support written feedback and spending the time to agree goals and development plans for your people.  

Skills/Experience/Education:

  • Minimum 1 year of hands on experience in a management position
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer savvy
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and organize, produce accurate work and guest service
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills required.

Working Conditions:

Banquet Managers have a great deal of impact as they are in constant contact with our guests and are extremely influential to the overall guest experience. They often spend most of their time on their feet, and are frequently required to respond quickly in fast paced and noisy environments. This position may experience:

  • Long periods of standing and interacting with the guest
  • Shifts work is required. Rotating based on the hours of operation from morning to afternoon to evening shifts any day of the week or weekend
  • Periods of working under pressure to serve guests quickly and efficiently.
