We are looking for a Marketing Manager who will play a pivotal role in our expanding Nordic spa brand, as we grow operations in the US market.

As the Marketing Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to oversee and shape the marketing strategies and tactics for our portfolio of Nordic spas and hotels. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for executing, managing, and developing innovative marketing campaigns that drive revenue and align with our brand strategy.

Your role will involve planning campaigns and analyzing results, crafting compelling social media plans, and ensuring all marketing tactics are on-brand. With your creative and analytical mindset, you will identify key target markets and implement omni-channel marketing campaigns that deliver a strong return on investment.

Skills/Abilities Include:

  • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate ongoing & seasonal cross-channel marketing and brand activities across owned, shared, and paid media (e.g., websites, social media, print and digital advertising, publications, email/direct marketing, and influencer).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and agency partners to plan, create, and evaluate paid media tactics including digital, traditional, influencer, and out-of-home (OOH) formats.
  • Track and maintain a positive return on investment for all marketing & brand campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external agency partners to ensure digital marketing campaigns are optimized for audience targeting and performance.
  • Develop content strategy including monthly content calendars for web/blog, social media, PR
  • Ensure web content is kept up to date via CMS
  • Manage creative agency relationship, ensuring all work is delivered on-time and on-brand
  • Maintains email and CRM database, including developing automated/triggered, drip, and transactional campaigns. Responsible for overall campaign build, deploying, reviewing, and reporting results to drive ongoing strategy.
  • Understands and uses internal booking and sales data to create look-alike audiences to reach new customers and target digital media efforts.
  • Understands and strategically uses website analytics and CRM platforms to make decisions, recommendations, and hypotheses about customer behaviours.
  • Manages marketing expense budget; able to bring commentary on the performance of their area(s) on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Can efficiently make the necessary changes to meet budgeted demands and keep in line with the business's needs/goals.
  • Delivers excellence in everything they produce, present, and convey while adhering to brand guidelines. Does not accept mediocrity or the status quo from their area. Is creative and diligent in the pursuit of continuous improvement, not letting roadblocks undermine quality.

 Education & Experience required to be successful

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing roles of increasing responsibility within agencies or marketing departments, including at least 3 years at a manager level
  • Post-secondary education focused on Marketing, Business Management, eCommerce, or equivalent experience.
  • Travel, tourism, or hotel marketing experience an asset.
  • A self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Proven expertise in the development and implementation of strategic, integrated, results-driven marketing and brand activities for multiple audiences in a highly professional manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current marketing and communications approaches and tools, with emphasis on digital paid media, websites, social media, video and mobile.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating integrated paid media (digital, print, paid social) including media planning, development of creative briefs and deliverables, monitoring and evaluation, and budget management.
  • Experience working with web analytics and CRM platforms.
  • Able to interpret data from tools such as Google Analytics GA4, Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Search Console.
  • General understanding of SEO, competitive analysis, keyword research, and online content optimization.
  • Understanding of influencer marketing strategies
  • Good eye for visual presentation
  • Experience hiring and working effectively with 3rd party vendors
  • MS Excel/SmartSheet: Intermediate skills (e.g. budget management and project management). Skills in using these tools for data analysis are a bonus.
  • PowerPoint/Canva: Intermediate skills (e.g., marketing and brand presentations).
  • Demonstrated experience using various social media platforms for communication and promotion (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram),
  • Experience with CRM platforms for email, push, SMS campaigns (ad hoc, transactional, drip, and triggered)
  • Digital design knowledge and expertise is an asset (e.g. websites, email and advertising using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Working Conditions

This position is set in a fast-paced environment with high interaction levels with multiple platforms, software applications, outside partners, employees, and other stakeholders. The Marketing Manager will spend much time multitasking, managing competing priorities, and working through challenges. Due to the 365-day, a year operation of the Pomeroy Lodging portfolio, the Marketing Manager may occasionally be required to work varied hours, including late hours, weekends, and holidays, depending on the nature of ongoing projects, initiatives, or travel requirements.
