The Role:

The Maintenance Coordinator will be in charge of performing all administrative duties related to maintenance and general upkeep of the property, working closely with Housekeeping and the Front Office teams. As a successful coordinator, you are able to plan, coordinate, communicate and keep the department well organized. You must be skilled at delegating tasks to the team and have good problem solving skills.

Job Duties:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the primary responsibilities of this role are:

• Inventory and ordering of supplies for the Engineering department
• Daily/weekly payroll tasks for Engineering department
• Liaising with contractors and suppliers for invoicing
• Assisting to train all employees in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
• May assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
• Assist with development of staff, including providing continual performance feedback
• Assisting and coordinating with departmental projects as assigned.
• Maintain the cheque book system, and accruals for Engineering Departments
• Able to organize and input all information for a preventative maintenance program
• Assisting Engineering staff as required
• Other tasks as assigned

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Dynamic, enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions
• 1-2 years or more of related hospitality experience
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be organized and detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize
• Must have excellent typing skills
• Computer literate in the following programs: Windows, Excel, Word, Internet
• Knowledge of Opera PMS an asset
• Understanding of General Maintenance and/or previous experience in Engineering an asset
• Must be highly Health and Safety conscious dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.
