We are looking for an experienced 2nd cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team. We offer top-of-market wages and excellent perks. 

As a 2nd Cook you are authorized to create inspired and memorable dining experiences for our guests. You will achieve this by executing a culinary program that matches the brand experience, ensuring quality is delivered every time and making business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service.

The job duties are as follows:

  • Prepare and cooks complete meals, individual dishes and foods to recipe and order.
  • Prepare and cook special meals for guests based on communicated allergies or intolerances.
  • Ensures quality of food and determines size and food proportions. Ensure strict control of waste and portion and help to control food quality using standard recipe methods.
  • Ensures the safe operation of kitchen equipment by inspecting for, reporting and correcting safety hazards.
  • Ensures the proper labelling of food and its rotation to ensure that the product remains fresh and compliant with our set standards. Checks and maintains equipment to maintain proper temperatures for fridges, coolers, fryers, and freezers.
  • Maintains the work area in a safe, clean and organized manner.
  • Preparation of Outlet, Banquet and any other food requirements

Education & Experience:

  • 2-4 years or more of related cooking experience
  • Completion of Secondary school required
  • Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship program
  • Must be highly Health and Safety conscious dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Valid Foodsafe certification or advanced (Level 2) Food Safety certification is preferred
  • Proficient in English 

 Working Conditions:

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, on your feet with high levels of interaction with employees, managing multiple demands.
