THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Finance Resorts, the primary responsibilities are:

  • Preparation of monthly journal, closing entries, deadlines and schedules.
  • To assist with reconcile and monitor all balance sheet accounts according to the policy for all resort related databases.
  • Assist with monthly forecast preparation for all resort databases.
  • Monthly preparation of daily reporting templates
  • To assist with preparation of KPI reporting weekly such as cashflow
  • Assist DOF with external auditors for annual audit/review engagements
  • Assist in the hiring, training, development, and motivation of accounting staff in both accounting departments
  • To be familiar with all resort operating systems and software including Financials System (AccPac), PMS (Opera, MSI), POS (Maitre’d, RTP), Excel.
  • To maintain good working relations with colleagues and other departments.
  • To conduct employee performance interviews.
  • Key communicator between the Accounting department and other key departments such as Front Office, Spa and Food and Beverage

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIRMENTS

  • Accounting designation or enrollment in a recognized Accounting Program.
  • Previous accounting experience at a supervisory/managerial level (Minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Familiarity with Financial Systems (AccPac), Opera, MSI, POS (Micros), and Excel.
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, requesting clarification as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build professional relationships
  • Able to work effectively within designated timeline
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
