Job Description

Breakfast Cook role requiring hands-on performance and instruction to our people as well as consistent excellence in the execution of menu items while adhering to budgetary targets. You will assist in directing our culinary operations on a daily basis under the guidance of the Executive Chef

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen activities and staff, ensuring that they have sufficient resources available
  • Ensure consistent and high quality food preparation and presentation
  • Develop, provide feedback and direct staff to achieve high levels of performance and customer service
  • Contribute to the menu and budget development
  • Identify business opportunities and organize or oversee the development and deliverables of these efforts
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained, refrigerators and storerooms are organized, and that all food products are correctly stored
  • Retain a thorough and updated knowledge of policies and procedures, regulations, products and services

Skills/Experience/Education

  • Must be 19+
  • Kitchen experience of 5 years or an equivalent combination of education, and experience
  • Red Seal or equivalent certification is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ProServe, WHMIS/GHS
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to provide exceptional customer service, multi-tasking and have an excellent attention to detail
  • Thorough knowledge of kitchen equipment and menu

Other requirements:

  • Long periods of standing and interacting
  • Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Able to lift, push or pull 50lbs
