Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a world class mountain resort property featuring 408 guest rooms, 5 unique Food & Beverage outlets, conference facilities, spa and wellness centre and staff accommodations. All surrounded by untouched beauty and rugged mountain peaks in the Canadian Rockies and conveniently located one hour west of Calgary and forty five minutes south of Banff and Canmore.

We are looking for a CDP and 1st Cook to join our Pastry team

The Pastry CDP will assist the pastry chef in the leadership of the day to day operation in the pastry department, including ordering, scheduling, team mentoring and complete guidance of the department. Along with the creation of pastries according to our standards, and crafting desserts for restaurants, the café and banquet service.   You will safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods and follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures.  Lastly, you will ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management.

In order to be successfully be considered for a Pastry CDP, you will need to be able to demonstrate 5 years minimum of related pastry/baking experience, and completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training is an asset.

The 1st Pastry cook will assist in the day to day operation of the pastry department, including the creation of pastries according to our standards, and crafting desserts for restaurants, the café and banquet service.  You will hand make chocolate truffles, chocolate show pieces, and sugar work.  You will safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods, and follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures. Lastly, you will ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management.

In order to be successfully be considered for a Pastry 1st Cook, you will possess excellent leadership abilities and a positive demeanor, be able to demonstrate 2-3 years minimum of related pastry/baking experience, and show completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
