The Role:

We are looking for a passionate, detail oriented manager to lead the opening of our newly renovated exclusive club experience at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. The Black Diamond Club will be an exclusive experience for our guests looking for an individualized boutique hotel experience. This space will operate as a hotel within the hotel – private breakfast, après-adventure snacks, and dedicated concierge services is offered for these guests. As the Black Diamond Club Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the guest experience and providing direction to each department involved. This is a unique role that encompasses many functions within the hotel, providing an excellent development platform for your career growth.

Job Duties:

  • Pre opening: participate in the development of training manuals and plans for each employee; assist in recruiting and selecting candidates; involvement in setting service standards and practices
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and anticipatory service
  • Lead and manage the Black Diamond team to ensure all standards and operating procedures are adhered to
  • Responsible for forecasting, scheduling, payroll, purchasing and recruitment for department
  • Work with the Sales & Front Office teams to ensure strategies are in place to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Work with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure that the Black Diamond lounge and Rooms are in perfect condition at all times
  • Set and operate lounge for all dining periods (breakfast, evening snacks, honor bar, daily offerings)
  • Identify and develop existing policies and procedures to improve the guest experience
  • Work with the Executive Chef to determine food and beverage offerings
  • Work with Front Office team to ensure smooth arrival/departure of all Black Diamond Guests,
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly, sharing any deficiencies with appropriate departments
  • Manage inventory to ensure occupancy is maximized and all guests are in their preferred rooms
  • Work with Housekeeping and inspect rooms prior to arrival to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and arrange specialized & personalized amenities for guests and specialty suites
  • Responsible for responding to all Black Diamond Guest Voice comments
  • Provide coaching and mentoring sessions for the team
  • Create activations in the Lounge to provide exclusive guest experiences (musicians, wine tasting etc…)
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the lounge
  • Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Conduct all colleague reviews and performance management
  • Manage food cost, ordering and presentation
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum in a leadership role within a Luxury hotel
  • Passionate about development within the industry
  • Knowledge of trends and industry best practices
  • Experience in both Front Office and Food and Beverage is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Opera and Maitre’D operating systems is an asset
  • Knowledge of Marriott Systems (GXP, Mobile Key, MGS) is an asset
  • Ability to work well with other leaders / departments
  • Ability to be flexible with hours and work schedule to be available when the business requires
  • Required to work Holidays and Weekends
  • Pro Serve required for this position
