Job Description

As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of all full-cycle payroll activities and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages, provide on-going support to the payroll team on a regular basis, assisting the team which includes but is not limited to data entry, syncing information across all technology applications, process monthly reporting and benefit reconciliations.

Key Focuses

  • Verifying employee and time-keeping data, ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Computing and processing wages, deductions, benefits, and any other non-regular wages payments.
  • Updating and syncing employee data across all payroll platforms, including promotions, transfers, leave of absences, terminations, and new hires.
  • Bi-weekly and monthly JEs relating to payroll; reconciliations of payroll accounts, including inter-company charges and transfers.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from staff in a timely, professional and courteous manner or directs to the appropriate person(s).
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, compliance standards and employment laws, provincial and federal regulations.
  • WCB and Worksafe: reconciliations, filing and remittances.
  • Year-End processing, payroll reporting, including processing T4s.

Experience/Passions/Education

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification or Payroll Leadership Professional Certification, or equivalent to 5 years of payroll experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Working Conditions

This position may work long days to meet periodic upturns in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of technology applications, and high levels of interaction with employees and other stakeholders. The position is Monday to Friday, with a hybrid working model for additional flexibility.
